The Read My Lips Series Hot

The Absurd

Title Read My Lips
Artist Johan Soderberg
Type Video
Broadcast news and the SNL of the late 80s/early 90s struck gold at the 1988 Republican National Convention when senior George Bush uttered the phrase "Read my lips". With this speech, he not only accepted the nod for the Republican ticket, but ushered these now-famous words into American phraseology. Johan Söderberg has entitled his brilliant editing side project just this: "Read My Lips", which is basically Soderberg's label for an emerging editing practice that takes vintage footage and synchs it with new music and lyrics. A few of Soderberg's projects can be viewed below while many others can be found on his website. Before you head anywhere else though, be sure and check out his latest music video, which has recently been featured on this site and is quite ridaculous.
